C.W. Arterbery primarily grew up in the Rocky Mountain states, where his fondness for wildlife was exemplified at an early age. Having being exposed to the grandeur of the Rockies by his father, C.W. started drawing wildlife before he could even walk.
However, CW. did not start painting until 1996. Being inspired by several wildlife artists, it was the late Vivi Crandall that was his greatest influence, and became his friend and motivator. Having "ART" in his last name, C.W. knew that being an artist was in his future. As a self taught artist, C.W. went on and acquired multiple college degrees, including one in art. While taking art classes in college, CW. was asked by several professors to help teach their classes and was told he had a knack for realism.
With his college days behind him, CW. has since taken workshops from some of the top wildlife artists in the world including: Rod Frederick, Terry Isaac, Daniel Smith, to name a few.
C.W. is one of the fortunate artists to have mild success early in his career, allowing his art to be purchased and viewed around the world.
His journey as an artist continues to take him places all over the country, allowing him to gather reference material for future paintings, and make a magnitude of friends.
C.W. has donated numerous art, which has raised tens of thousands of dollars for different charities, including the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Ducks Unlimited, National Turkey Federation, MS foundation, and many more.
Now after a couple of years in hiatus, C.W. Arterbery has once again returned to the easel, with more vigor and ambition to create new and exciting paintings, that they may someday too be enjoyed by others around the world.
