C.W. Arterbery primarily grew up in the Rocky Mountain states, where his fondness for wildlife was exemplified at an early age. Having being exposed to the grandeur of the Rockies by his father, C.W. started drawing wildlife before he could even walk.
However, CW. did not start painting until 1996. Being inspired by several wildlife artists, it was the late Vivi Crandall that was his greatest influence, and became his friend and motivator.
